Two kinds of potato gratin

Delicious potato gratin made with sweet potatoes and regular potatoes, layered with creamy sauce and topped with golden, crispy cheese.

Ingredients for 3 servings:

- 1 large sweet potato

- 2 large potatoes

- 250 ml cream

- 150 ml milk

- 150 g grated cheese

- Fresh garlic

- Vegetable broth (powder)

- (Fresh) nutmeg

- Paprika powder

- Salt and pepper

- some flour

1.) Peel the potatoes and sweet potato and cut into thin slices. Make sure that the potato and sweet potato slices are approximately the same size and thickness. Finely chop fresh garlic (approx. 1 clove).

2.) Put the cream and milk in a saucepan. Add salt, pepper, chopped garlic, (freshly grated) nutmeg and a pinch of paprika powder. Now add the potatoes to the cream mixture and bring to the boil.

Let everything simmer for about 5 minutes, then add the sweet potato slices and let everything cook for another 10 minutes.

3.) Remove the potato slices from the cream mixture with a slotted spoon and place them in a casserole dish, arranging the potato slices a little. Thicken the remaining cream mixture on the stove with a roux and then pour it over the potato slices in the casserole dish. Now pour the grated cheese over the potatoes.

4.) Bake the casserole in a preheated oven at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for about 20 minutes until golden brown.

Bon appetit!
